Apple Says Kernel in iOS 10 Beta Was Left Unencrypted Intentionally
Apple has issued a statement saying that the company left the kernel in iOS 10 beta unencrypted intentionally, reports TechCrunch.“The kernel cache doesn't contain any user info, and by unencrypting it we're able to optimize the operating system's performance without compromising security,” an Apple spokesperson told the site.Security researchers say leaving the kernel unencrypted is either a bold move or an embarrassing mistake and despite Apple's statement it's unlikely the company would admit to the later.
