Apple will require users to switch to 2FA in iOS 11 and macOS High Sierra
When you upgrade to iOS 11 or macOS High Sierra, you will automatically be switched over to 2FA if you were on 2SV before. Apple will soon be requiring everyone with two-step verification (2SV) to jump on the two-factor authentication (2FA) bandwagon. According to MacRumors, Apple ID users with two-step verification enabled have started getting emails that, when they install iOS 11 or macOS High Sierra, they will be automatically updated to two-factor authentication.
