'"Morning Folly Beach Marshland"' by Eddie Schrieffer
Folly Beach is not far from Charleston, South Carolina and has some beautiful scenes. The marsh is alive with hardy grasses, bushes and tree stands. Waterways cut paths through the marsh. We have a small crab boardwalk where my son caught enough crabs for a family crab boil Tuesday evening.
Standing in the shade of our back porch Wednesday morning, I set up my easel and began to paint the marsh scene. With strong quick brush strokes, I worked quickly to capture the soft morning colors and textures before the sun moved toward noon time. Painting outdoors is a challenge. The light is constantly changing, wind can blow painting pallets and the canvas, and then there is the summer heat, all of this makes for a dynamic painting experience.
