Ryokan Rakuchō
There is a lot to appreciate about this fine eight-room ryokan in the northern part of town: there is a nice little garden; it's entirely nonsmoking; and the rooms are clean and simple (no TV). Meals aren't served, but staff can provide you with a good map of local eateries. The downside is the somewhat out-of-the-way location.
